John begins not at Bethlehem but at the foundation of creation: 'In the beginning was the Word.' The Gospel's opening echoes Genesis 1:1 deliberately — the same Word through whom all things were made has now entered His own creation as flesh. The Incarnation is not an afterthought to the divine plan; it is the culmination of the same creative love that spoke the cosmos into being. Emmanuel — God with us — is the entire Gospel of John in three words.
