God creates the heavens, earth, animals, and humans, showing His power and purpose.
"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth."
Genesis 1:1
Key Verse
"Genesis 1:1 - In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth."
Story Background
The story of creation begins with God speaking the universe into existence from nothing. Before creation, there was only God - no matter, no time, no space. God's creative work spans six days, each day building upon the previous one, showing His systematic and purposeful approach. Day one establishes light and separates it from darkness, day two creates the sky and separates waters, day three forms land and vegetation, day four places the sun, moon, and stars, day five brings sea creatures and birds, and day six creates land animals and humans. The seventh day is set apart as holy, establishing the pattern of rest and worship. This narrative reveals God's character as all-powerful, creative, orderly, and purposeful. It also establishes humanity's unique role as God's image-bearers, given dominion over creation and called to steward it responsibly.
